Arthur Hoefliger

Arthur Hoefliger is a senior at Columbia College, double-majoring in Economics and Political Science, and pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science at Columbia University. He is a Pritzker-Pucker Congressional Policy Fellow and serves as chair of the fellowship. Arthur is interested in the intersection of global security, international cooperation, and energy geopolitics, with a focus on Iran and the Middle East.

Arthur has served as President of United Nations Columbia since September 2025 and previously was the organization’s Treasurer. He served multiple roles at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), supporting CFR’s development and Studies departments. Prior to his time at the Council, Arthur worked in legal and Congressional consulting positions at organizations including Giffords Law Center for Gun Violence Prevention, Statecraft Equity Partners, and Career Girls.

At Columbia, Arthur is the Middle East and North Africa Representative for Columbia Academics in Foreign Affairs and the Undergraduate Journal of Foreign Affairs. He also served as a political economy research assistant within the Economics Department of Columbia. Arthur is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the United Nations Foundation, and the Columbia International Relations Council & Association (CIRCA).
